Truth and Acceptance

Truth and Acceptance

Reflection by Viola Villena

Truth is always an issue for many people. We always want to know the truth about many things. In our history and science classes, we want to know the truth about discoveries and historical events. Even in a mathematical equation, we search for the true solution. We lost money, we want to search for the true person who probably has gotten it. Something came up at work, we want to discover who the culprit is. There are times that we even look for our true personalities to fit into what we so call the real world. Truth is just so vital that we do not stop searching for it until we find the truth. But do you know that the “real truth” is actually found in Jesus Christ?

It is written in John 14:6 “And Jesus said, I am the truth, the way, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” We are so busy looking for the truth when it is readily available in Jesus Christ, our Savior. We must be clear that only God can express the truth, grant people life, and show people the way to all of us. Jesus Christ testified his own true identity when He became man and lived. He showed the way to goodness by healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead, making the blind see and cripples walk. He taught us to love ourselves and others, to be humble, to be generous, compassionate, to be faithful to God, and to bring the kingdom of Heaven on earth. And He breathed life for us to live in the beautiful world that God Himself created by dying on the cross for our salvation.

However, it is only through Jesus Christ that we can see the truth, the way, and the life. And this is realized by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is through our genuine faith in Him that we will experience the bountiful blessings of God and His everlasting love.

DECLARATION PRAYER
Lord God, you have sent us your message of love through your son Jesus Christ. This is the ultimate truth that shows us the way and gives us life. I glorify You for the beautiful truth that I am saved as I accept Jesus Christ in my heart. I choose you. I give myself to you. I receive your forgiveness and ask you to take your rightful place in my life as my Savior. Fill my heart with your Holy Spirit to enlighten me of this truth, to love you more and more, and to remain faithful to You until we meet in Your Kingdom. In Jesus’s name, I pray. Amen.
